Grave Consequences is book two in the Grand Tour series and at least the eighth book of Lisa Bergren's I've read. Having loved Glamorous Illusions (book one), I was anxious to dive...

Really enjoyed this! There were a lot of great settings like Austria and Italy. That's where this series really shines I think - in the setting and historical details. It's rich in both.

So many twists and turns, and things I did not see coming. LOVED this one too. Cannot wait for fall to read the 3rd book.

With delight I rejoined the Kensington family on their tour across Europe in this second book in Bergren's engaging "Grand Tour" series. The first scene hit with the jolt of a train just starting its departure, and then I was right back into the rhythm of alternating setting descriptions, histori...

I could barely make it through. There just isn't enough of a plot here to justify three LONG books. I was shocked when I finished the first one that so little plot had been covered by so many wordy pages.

Let's begin with the positive. The first 1/3 of the novel is fun and delightful. The travelers stay with Pierre's sister and her husband in Provence in their fine mansion that was once a prison, perched above the Rhone river. The entire visit spent with Celine and Adrien is magical, almost too go...
