Read Angel with a Bullet (Dixie Flynn Mystery, #1) Online Free - A dab of romance and a truckload of trouble
As a wise-cracking reporter for San Francisco’s top alternative weekly, Dixie Flynn knows how to draw out a story. And she knows there is more behind the apparent suicide of her former lover, artist Diego Chino, than the police are letting on.
Brushing up on the Bay Area art scene, a picture emerges that implicates a reclusive patron. After being run down by a car in a Chinatown alley, Dixie is more determined than ever
to dodge her editor and the SFPD long enough to piece together the truth behind his
counterfiet art operation. But when a knife finds its way through her typing hand and she’s nearly cooked alive in a warehouse fire, it seems doubtful Dixie will live long enough to write the story.

I absolutely loved this book! It is a crime/mystery novel featuring a female protagonist, Dixie, as she tries to figure out what happened to an artist that died suspiciously in his apartment. The catch is that Dixie is not an investigator or policewoman - instead, she is a journalist for a magazi...

A great mix of humor, mystery, action, and suspense. A juggling act that was carried off with ease and panache(did I spell that right?, who knows).Anyway, my ereader was clicking away as this moves fast, furious and with a huge element of fun. I really enjoyed the characters and hope that is a co...

I gave the book 3*s for the tale. But I give 5*s to Dixie. The story reminded me of Saturday mornings at the theater for cartoons and Flash Gordon, Rocket Man, et. al., cliff hanger serials. The notable difference being that Flash always escaped unscathed unlike poor Dixie who really takes a beat...

Delightful new detective is on the scene in the guise of an investigative reporter. And what a debut she makes. My kind of read...fast, plot twist after plot twist and a climatic ending. I look forward to the next adventure.

I loved this story. It isn't always completely believable, but Dixie Flynn is a relatable, lovable heroine who doesn't realize she is in over her head until it's almost too late, a formula that always grabs my interest.

A really good author who made this book funny but with dark incidents happening throughout the book. Cleverly written with a strong story line.

The Northern CA Digital Library has a bunch of mysteries set in San Francisco, and I've been reading a lot of them. This one is a fun read. The author gets SF correctly, which I am a stickler about (see my review ofThe Alchemyst). The story is witty and moves along quickly. I like the characters...

Dixie Flynn is a fun protagonist who reminds me of Kinsey Milhone. Not sure I'd go out of my way to read in this projected series, but it kept my interest.
