Read Winter Trees (Seasons of Marigold Manor, #1) Online Free - Meet the residents and staff of Marigold Manor Assisted Living: Ginny, the grieving Activities Director; Chester, the facility’s friendly chef with a secret; Edith, the practical farmer’s widow; and Frank, the retired Navy Admiral.
Ginny struggles to make the holidays joyful for the residents, while still mourning the death of her fiancé. Edith and Frank decide it’s time for an intervention. The two conspire to play matchmaker between Ginny and Chester. The task isn’t an easy one. Ginny must find a way to let go of her grief, and Chester’s past may stop any romance from growing.
But the two matchmakers are nothing if not persistent. They’ve lived too long, and learned too much, to give up hope. They know that barren winter trees bloom again in the spring and everyone deserves a second chance at love.

It's so refreshing to read a Christian fiction novel where the characters and story are believable. Ginny's journey throughout the book doesn't feel contrived or forced as so many contemporary Christian books I've read do. What a refreshing story! I have a friend in a nursing home. This story is what I wish all nursing homes were like. I like the author and look forward to reading more of her books.

While there were many story lines, they melded together and were easily followed. This was a simple, heart-warming and encouraging work suitable for many ages, but especially late 30s, middle-aged, and older folks. Highly recommended.

The characters were real, mixed up and human. It made you see below the surface of people around us. Book of hope!

I received this book from Goodreads First Reads....
I enjoyed this book thoroughly. It is simple, sweet, easy read that gets straight to the point. My biggest issue with it, though, is how the author puts in more effort describing the characters instead of describing their actual emotions/feelings...
