This book is 450 pages of meditation instruction, and present the most comprehensive introduction to the practice I've ever encountered. Its language is crisp, clear and modern. It seems it took a theravada/vajrayana/neuroscience teacher to make this synthesis of Buddhism with modernity to happen...

I've been meditating for twenty years, not making all that much progress and never quite sure what it was I was getting wrong.
This is the book I wish I'd had twenty years ago. I finally *got* it - what meditation is, what it isn't, what I was doing right, what I was doing wrong, all of it.

A sensible, clear, deep guide to the progress of what Culadasa calls samatha-vipassana. Highly recommend for committed practitioners.

There's a lot of practical explanations and examples, as...

A very detailed book which looks at the different levels of meditation using the traditional examples of at the elephant and the monkey. An excellent book for anyone wishing to explore the depths of the practice of meditation.

I received this book, for free, in exchange for an honest review.
This is a comprehensive overview of meditation. There are numerous exercises and diagrams throughout the book unlike many other meditation books.
The writing felt a bit too academic/dry to really engage me.

I'm certain other reviews on the book itself here are already better than I could write. As far as the book goes I'll just say that this is the best, most thorough book on mediation that I have read. Author goes into detail on so many aspects of meditation that aren't covered elsewhere: motivatin...
