Hey Digger, Digger
(Hey Diddle, Diddle)

Hey digger, digger,
the hole's getting bigger.
Your shovel's been scooping since ten.
Beware the loose rubble.
Too late--you're in trouble!
You'd better start digging again.

Wonderful rhymes and VEHICLES! Here is a collection that every car/plane/boat/crane/digger/taxi/train-loving kid will adore. With hilarious artwork by Jef Kaminsky, Motor Goose is a must-have for readers who like things that go. And as the rhymes progress, the day winds down, making this perfect for bedtime.

Motor Goose rewrites classic Mother Goose rhymes (Humpty Dumpty, Twinkle Twinkle, etc.) with a motor vehicle theme. Bumpty Dumpty is a dump truck, for example. Kids who like nursery rhymes and heavy machinery may enjoy it. I found the illustrations a little sloppy.

And paired with Kaminsky's vibrant and whimsical art, this book is hard to re...

Twenty-three humorous poems do homage to the original Mother Goose nursery rhymes with a slant celebrating all sorts of vehicles. Although the poems indicate which nursery rhymes they resemble so that readers will know how to read them properly, it might be wise to do a refresher course and take...
