Read God Is: A Devotional Guide to the Attributes of God Online Free - Throughout history, great theologians have written volumes on the attributes of God. And yet, most of these treatments are unlikely to be read by many Christians today because of their length or scholarly nature. In God Is: A Devotional Guide to the Attributes of God, Mark Jones makes these rich theological insights accessible to the modern reader. With a specific focus on how each attribute is seen most fully in Jesus Christ, this meditative book will give Christians a clearer picture of the God they worship and serve, helping them love him more deeply and enjoy him more purely as they come to know him more fully.

This is an excellent introduction to studying theology proper, but it's much more than that. Jones manages to cover a number of essential attributes of God, apply them to the work of Christ in the history of redemption, and then conclude with a personal and devotional meditation. This is a great...

I don't typically gush about devotional books--with the occasional exception. BUT. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Mark Jones' God Is.
There are twenty-six chapters God-centered chapters to read, to reread, to read aloud to others--whether they want to listen or not. (Also there's a preface and an introduc...

Have you lost sight of the glory, majesty, and wonder of who God is? Of who Jesus is? While we cannot fully know God, we can know Him truly in how He has chosen to reveal Himself in His Word. Mark Jones has written a treasure for the church with this book! A beautiful introduction to theology proper, Jones crafts each chapter around an attribute of God, views it through Christ, and then applies that attribute to the Christian life. If you want to make sure you worship the God of Scrip...

Because of the way things are structured with attribute building on attribute, it got pretty repetitive. I also think some guiding questions in the application section would have better facilitated thoughtful digestion of each chapter's content.

Outstanding introduction to the attributes of God in a devotional format. Mark Jones covers 26 attributes of God and spends around six or so pages covering the doctrine of the attribute, how this is revealed in Christ, and some application. Highly recommended.

I think I liked his "Knowing Christ" more than this, but Mark Jones does this format very, very well. Lots of short chapters that have that hard to find balance of doctrine and application.
