Read Death in the Abstract Online Free - Retired police chief Katherine Sullivan moved away from Edina, Minnesota to feed her artistic soul in New Mexico. But when she receives an urgent call, her serenity is shattered. Nathan Walker, her best friend and former colleague from her days on the police force, is missing and his crew of security experts hasn’t seen him in days. Now it’s up to Katherine to fly home and track him down.
Meanwhile, Edina is reeling from the murder of a local woman, which looks more and more like it could have a connection to Nathan's disappearance. And as Katherine digs deeper into the investigation, locating Nathan’s abandoned car and compiling a list of potential kidnappers, another body is found--and Katherine fears time is running out for her friend.
Finding herself reluctantly pulled into a new case, Katherine must set aside her artistic pursuits and tear herself away from her darling grandchildren in order to save her best friend in Death in the Abstract, the compelling sequel to Emily Barnes' The Fine Art of Murder.

I totally enjoyed this delightful mystery, the second in the series by Emily Barnes. A light, engaging read. Maybe it's my age, but I loved retired police chief Katherine Sullivan, retired from the police force in Edina, Minneosota to beautiful Taos, New Mexico where she pursues her dream of bein...

I found Death in the Abstract: A Katherine Sullivan Mystery by Emily Barnes to be an easy read, to the point that I wasn't sure if it was written for adults as it lacks any sophistication or complexity. It is literally an "okay" book. I might recommend it for a quick read on a flight or short tri...

I had not read the first book but no matter- this is a neatly plotted and written mystery/procedural. Katherine is a determined women; she wants to truth. I liked the Edina setting even if there was an unrealistically large number of bad things happening. This is a quick read and a step above the...

A very light and entertaining mystery. I became engaged immediately with the frantic phone call and disappearance of a primary character. I enjoyed the younger characters as they worked tirelessly to find their boss - their strengths and empathy really came through in the writing. I loved the und...

A very enjoyable story full of quirky characters who do unexpected things. This one was certainly a bit different than the usual mystery. It kept me reading until the last page without stopping. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

Thanks Crooked Lane Books and netgalley for this ARC.
Emily Barnes makes her characters so human and real that you are drawn into the mystery and into their world. This series will leave a big impression on you until the next one which I'm anxiously hoping will be soon.
